Two search methods are available: general and targeted.
1. The general search seeks matches to an alpha-numeric string in all areas of the database. This search will, for example, deliver results for a specific place regardless of whether the place is recorded in the "subject", "location", "train working" or "description fields".
2. The targeted search only seeks matches in specific fields. This will normally give fewer results.
